4 face packs you can make at home!

Okay, I have a secret to share! Shhh, it is for your eyes only. I too tried many expensive creams and indulged in an elaborate AM/PM routine. I don’t do that anymore, because it just does not work on my skin.

In fact, the more the price tag, the worse the reaction on my skin. I know, I know, it is such a first world problem and I am aware of that. Ever since I was in my teens, I made my kitchen my skincare safe haven. And after growing up, when nothing really worked, I started leaning on my homemade packs again.

At this point, I will tell you, I am not a dermatologist nor do I claim to know the science behind it. I’m just a gal who is sharing what worked for her. If you choose to use any of it, please, please, patch test first.

Now that the disclaimer is out of the way, I’ll go ahead and share my homemade facepack recipes. These recipes are all super-duper simple to make with less than 3 kitchen ingredients. So, even if you are a greenhorn, don’t worry. I’ve got you covered! 🙂

1. Oatalicious

Oatalicious only needs two ingredients. Oats and milk. Take one tablespoon of oats and add milk to it. Add milk to cover the oats and some more, just to ensure there’s enough for the oats to soak.

You must let it sit for a couple of hours and then apply it on a freshly cleansed face. Leave on your face for 15-20 minutes and wash it off.

Oats is great for anti inflammation and collagen production. Milk acts as a gentle cleanser. Applying them together is great for your skin’s health.

2. Coffee Can Do it!

For this facepack, you will need instant coffee powder, sugar and lemon.

To prepare this pack, you will have to take one part coffee and one part sugar. Mix it together nicely and squeeze in some lemon to achieve gooey texture.

Use this pack to scrub your freshly cleansed skin and wash it off.

Coffee is great for antiaging, removing dark circles, and caring for your skin after exposure to sun. Sugar helps you retain moisture in your skin and lemon is the perfect source of vitamin C. So, pull that good coffee out and try this!

3. Banana, baby!

This is hands down my most favorite face pack. For this, you will need a ripe banana and honey.

Take a part of a ripe banana and mash it to remove any lumps. Add a spoon of honey to it and mix it well. Then, cleanse your face and apply this pack.

Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and wash it off. Bananas have vitamin A and C and are great for fighting wrinkles. Honey is great to cleanse, moisturize and reduce hyperpigmentation.

4. Rice and glow

This facepack uses a staple ingredient in most Indian households. All you need is rice, darling!

Take some rice and soak it in water for a few hours. Cook it on an open top and add enough water to achieve soft consistency. Let it cool down and add it to a mixer with water. Blend it to make a paste.

Apply this paste on a clean face to achieve instant glow. Since it is a slightly long process, you can make this pack in a bigger batch and refrigerate it.
